It's that time of year again where we bring you the ultimate gifting options for Northern crafters, with something for all ages and all budgets. Whether you're looking for a unique gift for cross stitchers, stocking fillers for embroidery enthusiasts, north east themed gifts, or fun gifts for crafty kids, you'll be sure to find just the thing in our 2025 Christmas gift guide to make this year's Christmas shopping a doddle. So grab a cuppa and let's get started!
1. Christmas Crafts
Whatever their age, crafters are like kids at Christmas. We get extremely excited by opening a gift to find a new toy we can open up and play with straight away, Craft kits that include everything they need to get cracking wherever they are is the absolute dream. Our Christmas cross stitch kits, such as this Saltburn-by-the-sea Baubles kit, are perfect for Christmas Day crafting by the fire while you're full of cheese and wine while you watch your Christmas movie marathon.
2. Hand care
Hands are the primary tool of any crafter, however they can get dry from regular washing (in order to keep our projects clean), and from the constant contact with materials, both of which can strip the hand's natural oils. Dry skin and nails can then click fabrics and fibres! This nourishing hand balm from North East based Awesome Botanical is perfect for keeping the crafter's hands soft and supple, while being unscented to prevent unnecessary ingredients contaminating their project.
3. a gift set to make it easy
Gifting couldn't be more easy with our modern cross stitch gift sets. Simply choose the location you would prefer then, if you need help deciding what to include, I will choose the contents for you (all gift sets include a beginner-friendly modern cross stitch kit, a super handy needleminder and a cute pair of embroidery snips) and pop it all in a gift box with a bow and a gift label, so all you have to do is write your Christmas wishes on the label!
4. cosy luxury
Crafters love nothing more than to be cosy, but cosy doesn't have to equal drab. These stunning Velvet Kimono Robes by Sheffield based Kimono Co Boutique are stunning and gorgeously soft and sumptuous. The perfect attire for any crafting session!
5. The gift that keeps on giving
Gift subscriptions are a great way to not only get in the good books... but also stay in them for months to come! With our cross stitch gift subscriptions your lucky recipient will receive one of our beginner-friendly kits once every 2 months allowing them to stitch their own piece of Northern art! Added bonus... the longer the subscription, the more you save... and the longer you're in the good books!
6. aromas of the north
What better way to create the perfect cosy crafting environment than by having candles burning nearby with scents reminiscent of your favourite places. With their eco-friendly soy wax candles, Newcastle-based Hot Wax has created just that. This Tynemouth Longsands Candle is inspired by walks on North East beaches, but my favourite has to be their Popcorn scented candle in collaboration with the Tyneside Cinema. Delicious!
7. The perfect stocking filler for Northern Needleworkers
I dont think I'm exaggerating when I say that when Cross Stitchers and Embroiderers first discovered Needleminders it changed their life. Not only because they are the genius little items, but they're also super fun to collect! For those who from the North, our limited edition Tyne Bridge Needleminders are not only pretty and practical, but also bring that feeling of home to any Needlework project.
8. crafts for the littlest crafters
The North Sea is an incredibly important part of many northerner's lives, either for joy or making a living, but the health of our oceans is in crisis. This Save Our Oceans craft kit from Cotton Twist is perfect for teaching our littlest crafters about the importance of looking after our oceans while they create a cute ocean themed display.
9. one for the grown ups
A warming festive tipple goes down very well while crafting on the cold, dark nights of British winter. Lindisfarne Mead produce a brilliant array of drinks named after iconic Northern places, but this Holy Island Spiced Rum would be my pick with it's notes of Ginger, Cinnamon and Nutmeg perfectly complimenting the festive season.
10. Don't forget the Christmas Card
Genuinely one of my favourite things to get from my loved ones is a Greetings card with a lovely message inside. It makes me feel all warm and fuzzy! And any Northern Crafter will appreciate the work of another Northern artist. Cullercoats based Joanne Wishart has greetings cards with lots of lovely local scenes, such as this of our beloved St Mary's Island, and the artwork itself is so gorgeous it serves as an extra present as you can frame it after!
Still don't know?
You can never go wrong with a gift card! With our e-gift cards you can choose the amount you would like to gift then the recipient can choose their own item to suit them!
I hope you have found this helpful! Have a wonderful Christmas!
