5 Indie Cross Stitch Accessory Makers You Should Know About!

One of the great thing about the cross stitch world is just how many amazingly talented folk there are out there making an array of wonderful accessories to make your crafting even more special. Last year I shared with you five of my favourite indie cross stitch designers, but today I wanted to share with you a few of the best cross stitch accessories out there, and of course their fabulous UK based makers.

Kate Blandford

clear and pink acrylic floss drops with white and pink DMC threads on them

Kate of Kate Blandford is nothing short of a wizard with acrylic. She makes the most beautiful needleminders, scissor fobs and threadholders, but my absolute favourite items from Kate have got to be her floss drops. Not only do they come in the most adorable colours, but they are just perfect for keeping your threads organised while working on your project. Kate has had a lot of bother with cheap companies trying (and failing!) to copy her designs, but none can compare to the OG! Check out her Etsy for some fab stitchy accessories like these gorgeous little floss drops.

Wickys Den

navy floral grime guards, one on a round hoop, one on a square frame

Sarah of Wickys Den makes super cute needleminders, but my favourite things that she makes are grime guards! The perfect thing to keep your projects clean and protected from the oils on your hands as you're holding your hoop or frame. I also love that instead of just square grime guards, she also makes round ones for your choice of hoop size, perfect for those of us who use hoops for our stitching! Check out her Etsy for some stunning grime guards like this floral beauty.

Pip and Chip

colourful DMC thread bobbins in foam insert within blue Bidley 5 drawer cabinet

Pip and Chip based in Gloucestershire provide everything you need to take your floss storage game to the next level! Gone are the days of messy plastic boxes that barely fit a few colours in. Pip and Chip provide cute but practical bobbin and storage options for a number of thread brands, including DMC, as well as decals and foam inserts for the Bisley cabinets which are so often used for storage by crafters. Check out their website for all their storage solutions, including the DMC bobbin set which, along with a pink Bisley cabinet, is on my Christmas wishlist!

Turtle Bay Stitches

grey dinosaur print cross stitch project bag with clear pane and dinosaur charm on zip

Sophie from Turtle Bay Stitches makes the most cutest project bags, perfect for keeping your WIPs clean and tidy between stitching sessions or when taking them out and about. Also, as an added bonus, each project bag comes with a cute charm that's related to the fabric. Check out her Etsy for all her wonderful creations, including this stunner and my current favourite (I have a little soft spot for dinosaurs!) which get this... glows in the dark!!

Sew Luxe Company

cinnamon bun scented thread gloss

Meg from Sew Luxe Company has a wonderful eye for design with her boho style kits and gorgeous needleminders, but it's her amazing array of thread gloss that I love! Thread Gloss is the perfect addition to help your threads stay smooth and minimise knotting, so why not get some in a gorgeous scent while you're at it?! Check out her website for lots of beautiful accessories, including this divine Cinnamon Bun Thread Gloss bringing all the autumnal feels!
